What is a
rejected claim?
A rejected claim is a claim that is in a rejected status and has failed
one of the following:
Billing validations - The validations that the claim goes through in Billing when the claim is prepared to be sent to the payer.
Clearinghouse validations - The validations that the claim goes through at the clearinghouse when the claim is received by the clearinghouse. This may include validations for any payer specific requirements.
Payer validations - The validations that the claim goes through at the Payer when the claim is received by the payer.
How can I
tell at what point the claim failed validations?
To determine at what point the claim failed validations:
Search for claims by a Rejected status on the Claim Processing screen.
Click on the View Submission button for each rejected claim to view the rejection message and to see who rejected the claim.
